“Kasane” is a new knife brand from Sumikama Co Ltd, a renowned Japanese knife maker. The knives feature a unique technology developed in-house to maintain sharpness for longer. The company processes and sharpens each blade in a special way that slows down dulling. Research by Sumikama shows that “Zero Edge” helps retain about 80% of sharpness compared with other products in their internal tests.<\/p>\n

Story of “Kasane”
\n<\/b><\/h4>\n

\u201cKasane\u201d means layering. It refers to many aspects of Japanese culture and lifestyle, such as the ancient art of layering colours in Japanese kimono, or many layers of colour in the changing seasons, or the beauty of various layers of one\u2019s life experiences. \u00a0There are also many layers of effort put into creating this innovative bread knife. \u00a0When a company is brave enough to address their own gender disparity, deciding to reflect more female voices, and when with all male in-house designers give way to a female designer outside the company, the result is just so perfect. How to Care
\n<\/b>– To maintain the sharpness of your knife, we recommend that it is hand-washed.
\n– Do not leave unwashed for long after cutting citrus such as lemon or orange.
\n– To sharpen, you can use a whetstone or;
\n– Consult a professional sharpener who is familiar with Japanese knives
\n– Do not use a sharpening lod.<\/p>\n
