Bring colour and joy to your table with these Japanese curry and pasta plates. The playful whale design and bright white-crested waves create an uplifting look. The deep shape works well for saucy pasta, Japanese curry and rice, risotto, or soba noodles.
A Joyful Plate for Everyday Meals
Mino ware has been trusted in Japan for over 1,300 years. It remains the country’s most-loved ceramic tradition. These plates continue that legacy with bold whales and flowing waves inside and out. The waves on the outer surface are slightly raised, adding a warm and handmade feel.
This whale-and-wave series comes in many shapes and sizes. Build a full set, mix and match your favourites, and enjoy a “whale of a time” at home.

I would like to share with the world what wonderful people work at SHOKUNIN Store in Australia. Recently we purchased beautiful Japanese ceramics and the result, as well as the friendly interface, was a stellar experience beyond what one has really come to expect from an online experience. Highly recommend!

I recently ordered some whale plates as a wedding present. I was worried what condition they would arrive in, as I live in Perth. I rang Shokunin and a lovely lady was so helpful and they arrived in perfect condition. I loved them so much that I ordered another set for the newly weds. Thank you for such great customer service.
